
After seeing an official Franklin & Marshall sweatshirt in 1999, a company based in Verona, Italy began to produce clothing in a vintage 1950's collegiate - style with the words ''Franklin & Marshall'' on them.
Franklin & Marshall alumni from the collage in Lancaster, Pennsylvania began to report seeing F & M merchandise for sale in Europe, needless to say the college was confused !!
In 2001, Tim McGraw posed for publicity photo's wearing a ''Franklin & Marshall Wrestling'' t-shirt, one of which was included in the CD booklet for his album ''Set This Circus Down''
The college became inundated with inquires about its (nonexistent) connection to the singer. They decided to investigate & found that a Franklin & Marshall clothing company was using the college's name without permission.
In 2003, after much discussion the college decided not to sue but instead agreed to accept a licensing fee from the company so that they could continue to produce their products, which had begun to gain popularity with youth, especially here in the U.K
Today Franklin & Marshall is sold Worldwide with flagship stores in Paris, Milan & The States.
But with a loyal following in the U.K the brand contiues to grow.
